For many the Unitree R1 humanoid robot represents a new threshold in the world of robotics, especially in the rapidly developing world of biped robots. The first thing that grabs your attention is the remarkably low price point – considerably less expensive that its companions from the same Unitree stable the G1 and the H1, and in a completely different bracket to competition from other developers. However, the remarkably low cost of the R1, which makes it truly to accessible to researchers, developers, educators and even hobbyists is not reflected in the design and functionality of this eye catching humanoid robot.
With 26 DOF the R1 is agile and well balanced and the AI that is integrated supports voice recognition and image processing, making it particularly responsive too. At about 55kg and 165’’ tall, the R1 is likened in size to a teenager and as such is appropriately sized for work in the laboratory or classroom and the open source SDK makes it the ideal robot for further research and development – the range of functions that the R1 can achieve is by no means exhaustive but at such a breakthrough price it still represents outstanding value for money.
At the present time, the Unitree R1 is not available for delivery, but the date at which it becomes available will very soon be upon us; if you would like to guarantee your R1 for delivery at the earliest opportunity, here at Roboworks we are happy to take a deposit to secure your Unitree R1 humanoid robot.
